THE MICROSOFT WORD TOOLBAR

Most software is infinitely customisable and Word - The World's Number 1 word processor - is no exception.

Open Word and observe immediately below the Command Bar (File, Edit, View, Insert etc) there is a line of icons called The Toolbar.

You can click each of those buttons to invoke the command assigned to that button.

You can remove buttons that you feel you are not likely to use regularly and add buttons for commands you use all the time.

Let us say you would like to Create snazzy emails and send them directly from Word...

Place your cursor in an open space to the right of the Toolbar and right click.

At the bottom of the fly out, click customize.

Now you see the Customize Dialogue Box, click on the tab Commands.

Note the dialogue box proper is split into Categories and Commands. As you click on the various categories (File, Edit, View, Insert etc), the commands for that category are displayed.

The command New E-mail Message will be found in the File category.

Single left click on the command New E-mail Message to select it.

Now, drag it to the Toolbar by holding down the left mouse button and drop it by releasing the button.

Click close on the dialogue box.

Whenever you open word, the command button you just added to the Toolbar will be there and you can quickly and easily invoke the command by clicking on the button.

Remove unwanted buttons

If there are any buttons on the Toolbar which you'd like to remove, drag them to the Commands section of the Customize Dialogue Box and drop them.
